Saturday, November 8th, 2008: Erica's Home!

I was just getting out of the shower when the phone rang and it was Erica asking me to come get her. She was coming home! She was sore and tired, but couldn't wait to get home.

I got to the hospital at about 10:45 and helped her get dressed. The wheelchair and a cart for her flowers arrived at about 11:45 and we were on our way. The transportation techs were so cool; one ran and got my car from the valet parking lot because the valet was so busy, and the other helped load the flowers into the car.

We got home and she promptly fell asleep in her recliner. I went over to Target to pick up pain medication and antacid prescriptions, but the really good news is that she no longer needs to take any of her diabetes or blood pressure medications. The doctor has her on plain water for the rest of the weekend and then on Monday we'll start with the protein and all the other stuff. I'm going to have to do an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of when to give her the calcium, iron, vitamins, protein, and etc. Should be interesting. But I am so happy she's home!!

By the way, in case you were wondering about Whizzer, she's doing much better. Her tail is almost back to normal and that's a relief.
